Healthy green St. Augustine lawn treated by Grass Monkey in Tampa Bay, FL

FAQs

Get answers to common questions about our lawn care services, treatment schedules, product safety, and what you can expect when working with Grass Monkey.

How often will you service my property?

Our standard lawn care program includes monthly service visits throughout the growing season. Monthly scheduling allows us to be proactive towards deficiencies and pest problems rather than waiting for issues to become visible. During each visit, our technicians apply the appropriate treatments for that time of year and monitor your lawn's overall health. We'll discuss the complete service schedule during your initial consultation so you know exactly what to expect.

What makes your fertilization program different from store-bought products?

Store-bought fertilizers use generic formulations designed to work "everywhere," which really means they're not optimized for anywhere specific. Our fertilization program is designed to give your lawn the proper blends of nutrients it needs for Florida's unique soil and climate conditions. We diagnose and correct any deficiencies on your first application. We use a combination of granular and liquid nutrients, chosen to match your lawn's specific needs rather than applying the same product to every property.

Do you guarantee your work?

Yes, we guarantee that your lawn will be weed-free. If weeds break through between scheduled applications, we return at no additional charge to retreat affected areas. We proactively monitor your lawn during every service visit and address any breakthrough weeds before you even need to call us. For our other services like fertilization and pest control, we stand behind our work with complete satisfaction guarantees. If you're not happy with results, we'll adjust treatments until we achieve the healthy lawn you're paying for.

Are your products safe for children and pets?

We use professional-grade products that are highly effective against pests, weeds, and diseases while maintaining safety when applied properly according to label directions. After application, we recommend keeping children and pets off treated areas until products have dried—typically 1-2 hours depending on weather conditions. Once dry, treated areas are safe for normal use. Our technicians are trained and certified in proper application techniques and always prioritize safety alongside effectiveness. We're happy to discuss any specific concerns during your initial consultation.

What should I do between service visits to help my lawn?

The most important thing you can do between visits is maintain proper irrigation practices. Water deeply but infrequently, most Florida lawns need 1-1.5 inches of water per week including rainfall. Water in early morning before 10am to reduce disease pressure. Mow regularly at the proper height for your grass type with sharp blades. Remove only one-third of the grass blade height per mowing to avoid stressing your lawn. Beyond irrigation and mowing, simply let us handle the rest through our monthly service program.
